“Let one ray of light burst upon the world in any age, and it is sure to come in contact with the traditions and long established usages of men.” — Parley P. Pratt1
Parley P. Pratt wrote A Voice of Warning while serving a mission in New York. Published in 1837, this book became the Church’s most important missionary tract of the 19th century, with over 30 English editions and several in other languages. A Voice of Warning discussed what made the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints different from other Christian churches and used Bible verses to explain the Restoration, the Book of Mormon, and other Latter-day Saint doctrines.2 The book was about 180 pages long.1
